SSS Die Crazy

This monochromatic card was made
for a swap using stencils but I realized I had also
used a die so that makes it eligible for the
"Die Crazy"

I airbrushed Copic YR24 over a stencil by
memorybox
"Texture Brilliant"
on some cream stock
and cut a die by poppystamps
"Tilda Swirl"
and popped it with foam tape.
The verse by Stampin' Up! was
used as it fit the space just right.
Thanks for stopping by.

Glitter Technique!

I have a NEW technique today!

Did you know that you can stamp (and color) on top of glitter?
Well you can and I will show you how.

Cover your paper with double stick adhesive...I used redliner tape
in strips (which gave me little lines but I added color to them instead of
beginning over...isn't that what we are supposed to do with boo-boo's?)

Cut shape if desired and then remove the top liner of your tape and
add fine art glitter, make sure to press it down for good coverage.

Now stamp image ON TOP of glitter and allow to dry for 15 minutes.

Color as you like, do not stroke the color, rather stipple so as not to
remove any glitter.

Now finish as desired.  You should result in an awesomely
glittery showpiece!!

Below is my sample:

Can you see all the glitz this tech produces?
Ahem....you may have to look a little closer, but it is there!
I used stamps by Stampin' Up!
ef by Provo Craft
Ultra fine glitter by Art Institute
red liner tape
Memento ink
Copic markers
paper by Anchor Paper

I am entering this in the current challenge over at
where there has to be at least one number on the creation.

Wish me luck!

Cows!!

My grandson turned 2 recently and since he absolutely adores
cows of any kind, color or size.....I made him a
COW CARD!!

I cut a strip of grass with a
Memory Box die and popped up
2 cows (stamp by Stampin' Up!)

Popped some diecut clouds and stamped the
saying by A-muse and it was done.
A verse inside said Happy Birthday but this
kid only looked at the cows on the front.....hahaha

Thanks for stopping by and have a
G-R-E-A-T
weekend!!

We are going to my g-daughter's high school
graduation.  I know, that makes me
OLD!!

CAS-UAL Fridays CFC100

I am playing again over at:

This week they are celebrating their birthday and the 100th challenge!

CFC100 is a TIC-TAC-TOE game
where you choose a line and make your entry
according to the words.

I chose the birthday-bling-punches or dies
and here is my card:

Stamps by SU!
Inks by Memento and Distress
embossing folder by Darice
Edger punch by Martha
black gems by Kaisercraft

I tried to make a shadow-y effect behind my verse
but think I only succeeded in making
it appear smudged......

Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! Pot

This shimmery card was easy to do.
I brayered color over some shimmer paper and then pounced a wrinkled wad of Saran Wrap
dipped in Versamark here and there for a pattern.

Corner punches and a large pot by SU were all
that was needed to set off the large pot IMO.

What is your opinion?

Glitzy Window Technique

1) Punch "windows" in your top layer of cardstock
2) Lay punched pc. over neutral pc. & stamp images so they show in windows.
3) Stamp on top of punched pc. if desired.
4) Flip punched pc. over and put packing tape over windows so sticky side of tape
faces stamped side.
5) Flip back over & sprinkle clear glitter over sticky windows and rub it in, tap off extra glitter.
6) Apply double-stick tape to back of window pc. and layer over neutral pc & over base pc.
7) Trim & embellish as desired.

My sample uses images by Stampin' Up! & Qwik Art with corner punch by EK Success.
(Love verse is unknown)
The scan does not do the glitz justice, but believe me it is there. You can do this with one window or as many as you like; over individual images or an entire background stamp.

Waterfall Card

Above is a sample of a waterfall card I made that is closed.

Below is how it looks when open:

And here are the directions:

1) Cut one pc. of cardstock to an A-2 size (this will be only a cardfront pc.)
2) Cut another pc of cardstock slightly smaller to layer
3) Cut a long strip (9 inches long & 2 inches wide) for the "waterfall" Score this strip beginning 1 " from an end and score every 3/4 ". You will have 4 folds that will hold your 1" squares (they will be adhered only along the fold portion of your strip)
4) I cut squares of red that were 1 inch square and layered them with white sqs.
5) cut a strip as wide as your cardfront and 3/4 inch high (this holds your "waterfall")

6) stamp images, color as desired and layer onto strip. stamp image or verse on the underneath portion of your strip if desired so it appears when the strip is pulled.
7) Attach your "holder" strip with eyelets or brads or whatever you like at the bottom...this should line up with your bottom 1" sq.
8) Add an eyelet and fibers for the "pull cord" at the bottom edge of your long strip.

It is really not as hard as you think.
Stamps used were by Stampin' Up, Printworks,
Stampsations, Amuse, savvystamps.

A Boy Bovine Birthday Card

My grandson turned 2 today and since he loves
the farm and cows both I made this card for him.

Stamps used are by Stampin' Up!, Annette Watkins
and Silver Fox Stamps.

I trimmed an extra barn and cow and popped them up and
the fence was done with a Martha Stewart border punch and popped up as well.
The sun was made by sponging the reverse piece punched with
a Stampin' Up! scalloped circle punch
and sponging yellow ink inside.
I added some glitz with a Stardust Gelly Roll pen on the words.
The sky was done using a cloud template by PrintWorks.

He loved it but thought the cows should be all black
because we have Angus cattle here...

Swirly DTP Technique

This is a simple direct-to-paper or DTP technique card.
I just swirled some dye ink pads over my
cardstock and overstamped an image by Stampin' Up!

I added some cute ribbon on the bottom along with another SU image in a frame
and thought it was enough.

I didn't color the dress forms as there was enough color in the background IMO.

Today I am watching 3 of my very active grandsons so the card
HAD to be a simple quick one!!

Faux Dry Embossing Technique

Did you know you can get the look of dry embossing without
actually doing it?
Of course this way takes more time but works.  LOL

You begin by stamping your image with Versamark ink and then stamping again with white ink.
You want to be just a tiny bit off with the white ink so the color part is just behind the white and it will look like you dry embossed it.

The top edge of my card was done using a wheel stamp by Stampin' Up "Ivy Vine"
The bottom verse was done using a stamp positioner and is unknown.

Chalk Shaving Technique

This pretty background is easily made by dunking some paper in a pan of chalk shavings and water.
Just put an inch or 2 of water in a container and shave some solid chalk in 1 or 2 colors.
The chalks will float.  Then lay your paper on top, pressing down a bit to ensure
that the paper makes complete contact and is covered with color.
Lift paper straight up and allow to dry before finishing.

I am showing you 2 generations with this card.  The first generation is the one with the flower stamp
(by Stampin' Up!) and the 2nd generation is stamped with the verse (by Seaside Stampin'.
As you can see, there is more color the first time, but a second paper is pretty as well, just a little less dramatic.

I also punched several small circles with a tiny hole punch and used as
faux brads!

What WILL I think of next??

Stampin' Up! Cuppa Card

This is a very simple, quick card today as I was gone last week and
of course had nothing done ahead of time for you.

My daughter moved way down by SE Iowa...we drove down to
visit her and I swear I could detect a faint southern drawl to people I spoke with there.
To make the trip even more exciting I was watching 2 g-sons so we took them along.
Need I say more?

My card is mainly layering and placement and cutting.
Hope you like it!

Burnished Embossing

This card has a subtle pop to it.  You may have to look closely to see it but it is there.
I embossed the flourishes by Firecracker Designs by Pamela and then sponged some dark blue ink around each.  The trick is to get the ink closely matching your paper color so it remains very subtle.

I added a strip of dp along the top and added a row of eyelets with another matching scrap of the same dp for the word by SU!

Honeycomb

This was done by laying a piece of mesh over white cardstock and
brayering color over it.  Easy as it gets?
I put a strip of sequin waste across the center and
stuck my sentiment (by Custer's Last Stamp)
over that.
I cut out 2 busy little bees (by Stampin' Up!)
and attached some crinkly wire for antennae.
So what do you think?
Does it look like a honeycomb to you?

Dad's Day

I just realized it's Father's Day this Sunday.

I made this card for my SIL to give to his Dad as
I will be seeing him when I go to a softball tournament
that my granddaughter is playing in Saturday.

It's quick 'n simple because (as usual) I am rushed and it is the last minute.

I stamped an unknown saying over some background paper and edged with ink, then ran a fiber down the center and layered it.
Then I stamped the SU! letters on some vellum tags and attached them over the fiber
to spell DAD.

Spritzed SU

I confess to posting a card from my stash.  The only reason I am confessing however is that
I cannot recall just how I did that background....I think it was spritzed with water but not sure.

The cute image is by Stampin' Up! and the ribbon is from Reasonable Ribbon.

Birthday Bubbles

This card was super-quick to make.
A bubble background with some SU balloons floating
up over the verse by Stampendous.  I attached some black fibers
that were run thru a small circle punched on the verse itself.
I sponged a little color over the bubbles to rev it up a bit.

Magic Background

This simple, yet showy, card uses a technique that allows you to subtly insert some
"pizazz" to your background.

I used Stampin' Up's circle wheel with
versamark ink first, then stamped my main image
by Taylored Artwork.  The versamark resists the color and
pops out in the end.

A southwest corner punch and a few beads with some
fiber were all this one needed.

Soft Frame Technique

To achieve the same softness as my frame
you will need to cut a shape and mask your image
with the Mortise (or reverse) frame and sponge
around the edges.
Then stamp and color your image.

Piece of cake right?

I don't seem able to find the floral image just now....I know....clean
my stamp room....
The word stamp is by Stampin' Up.
