Got The Blues?

I saw the new challenge at
is to make a card using the colors
blue and brown.
I used Distress inks for the colors and
stamps by PTI
"Brushed Off"
"Signature Greetings II"
Added some twine and raffia
from my stash and there you have it.

LIM: Touchables

There is a new challenge at
and it is to make something
TOUCHABLE
Imagine the possibilities!
Here is my card:

I cut the peacock with a die by Ellentina
from some glittery fun foam and
layered it on a label cut with die by SB.
I added a teal gem for an eye and used a corner rounder
and some dimensional tape.
This is certainly "touchable" and
really glitters IRL.
Be sure to check out the LIM site:
for lots of nifty ideas and samples.

LIM 285 Wine A Bit

A new challenge at
This week we are to make art using
Repetitions.
Below is my work:
I began with a die by SB
"Fancy Tags" that I stamped the verse by
Art Impressions.
Then I cut some designer paper by
Prima "Fairy Flora" into a strip
which I threaded onto my tag
after I sponged some ink around edges.
When I had that centered I marked the
edge and stamped several bottles
by Bad Axe Trading Co.
I figured I had better quit before I
did too much and ruined that
"white" space...as I tend to do!
Check out the
site to see the lovely samples over there!

LIM284 "Take Time"

This week's challenge over at
is a one layer card with a "time" theme.
OLCs are so not my faves but I try.
I wanted to use something other than
clocks as it seems most think of these
with this sort of challenge.
So I went with a stencil by
memorybox "Texture Shine"
I masked off some to keep that desired
white space and sponged Distress inks
"Mustard Seed" and "Spiced Marmalade".
The verse stamp is by MFP and those
tiny speckles are a stamp by Judith
(to hide a smudge of course).
Be sure to check out

LIM#283 Kitchen Colors

A new challenge over at
This week is to make a CAS card using your
kitchen colors.  Below is my card:
I paper pieced the little giraffe image
(by Art Impressions)
with some dp by DCWV "Safari Chic"
and sponged some Distress inks for a quick scene.
I popped the stitched frame
(by Simon Says Stamp) after
inking the verse (by Stampendous).
I added a small flower for a sun to hide an oops.
It sort of looks like a sun?

And below is a pic of my kitchen and the colors.
You see the pottery on cab tops is from
New Mexico (the blues and greens),  walls are yellow and cabs are brown

LIM 282 Stencils

I was playing with a new purchase and see the
current challenge over at
is stencils.  Yes!

I taped down a stencil by Tim Holtz
"Scribbles"
onto black cardstock panel and
applied some gold glitter paste
by Bo Bunny
(this stuff dries amazingly quick)
I layered that on some gold mirror card and then onto
more black.  I cut some shapes by
The Paper Cut and adhered another diecut
by memorybox "thanks"
I went a bit overboard to be totally
CAS but I liked the results and they did
(sort of) fit the challenge so
that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

LIM 281 Faux Bleach

I tried the faux bleach tech with some Yupo paper and find that it does not
like to be heat embossed.  It crinkled on me so I trimmed
out the wrinklies and ended up with a slim strip....
I used dye reindeers for the color and it seems to have
"bleached" out most of it.
Dragonfly stamp is by Magenta
word die is by Taylored Expressions
I fussy cut an extra dragonfly and popped
him up so you can see how he looked
before ironing off most color.
I am not too happy with my results
but I have not got time to re-do
so here it is.
Be sure to stop by the

site to see the wonderful
creations everyone (except me) has posted!

#279 Barney the PURPLE Dinosaur!!

This weeks challenge over at
Less Is More
is a color one....purple!
I think I have enough purple don't you?
The hills were made with a die by MFT
"Snow Drifts"
Stamps are by Lawn Fawn
"Critters From the Past"
I popped my purple dinosaur over the
purple hills...reminds me a bit of
BARNEY!!
I shaped the verse into the shape I wanted
which is why I like those clear stamps.
Be sure to pop over and check out all
the cards over at:

LIM 277 Theme: something that POPS!

My card has something that pops since I use the candles that fizz and pop!
I hope that links with this challenge theme over at
My candle panel was begun with watercolor paper and
watercolors.  Candles were fussy cut and a metal birthday hat
was added with an eyelet.  The panel was cut with deckle scissors and layered
over cream cardstock.
The verse is by MFP "Happy Pansies" and image by embossing arts.
Be sure to stop by Less Is More to check out all the
nifty works of art!

LIM #275 Pastel Challenge

A new challenge over at
This week is a color challenge and this one
calls for pastels.
I began with a pre-cut card shape, sponging pale pink
all over.  Embossed images in
white and then sponged more pink
behind words.
Some ribbon from Reasonable Ribbon and
it was finished.
Stamps were UMs without a name.
Be sure to check out the many ideas and samples
(and perhaps upload one of your own creations)

LIM #273 It's A Dragon!

Another challenge over at
This week is #273 and the theme is saints and dragons
I heat embossed a dragon image by
Judi-Kins and stamped a verse by
Lawn Fawn that seemed (to me)
to go with it well.

LIM Challenge #272 "Graffiti"

The challenge this week over at
is #272 and the theme is to use a stamp 3 times
or use 3 stamps.
I have stamped an image by Hero Arts
"Brush Strokes"
3 times by sponging various Memento inks
directly on the stamp.  I also
used the word stamp by HA too....
does that disqualify my card?

Less Is More
and check out all the ideas and
lovely entries!

Fabulousness

This week over at
the challenge is on for a
one layer card with geometric shapes.
I inked the shape stamp by MFT
with a Kpad "Desert Heat"
As that pad is a dye ink I first inked the stamp with my
Versamark pad and then the dye pad so I could
heat emboss (thus did not have to dig for
a pigment pad).
The word stamps (by Technique Tuesday)
were stamped the same way.
I added a few gems to perk it up a bit.
Very simple, very OLC and (I hope)
very adequate white space?
Check out all the wonderful designs

Unwhite Spaces

A simple CAS card made for an upcoming
birthday that will tie into the
current challenge over at
that is

This one calls for white space that isn't white
and my card has plenty of it I think.
Stamps by
Crackerbox Palace and Judith
color by Tim Holtz Distress Crayons
I add a "glow" behind the flames to cover up an oops
Stop over at
and check out all those awesome creations
and maybe put yours up there also.

Tine (or tiny) Bows Tech

A new challenge over at
Less is More

This one entails making something showing
POLKA DOTS
I used stamps by MFP, a die by
Simon Says Stamp and paper by echo park
I also used a technique for making bows
with a common kitchen fork.  I found
this on YouTube and the direct link
to view this is below:

Outside My Window

A new challenge over at
This week it is
"What's outside your window"
You know, that could mean anything!!
Here is my rendition:
First I cut a shape in the front layer, then
embossed with an ef by Tim Holtz
"Bricked"
I smooshed several Distress inks
over and stenciled some clouds,
then stamped a flower garden
with stamps by
North Coast Creations
"Something Marvelous"
The window die is by poppystamps
"small madison window"
To finish I popped both the window and the panel
beneath it for dimension.
Be sure to POP on over to the
blog for lots more inspiration and tell them Connie sent you!

Pixie Dust 2

I made a second entry for this challenge as I
was told I did not leave enough
"white space"
I did almost the same except I masked off the
center and stenciled only that part.
Thus I hope it meets the LIM requirements.

Another challenge over at Less is More.

This one is to make a one layer card
with text as the main image.
I sponged Distress inks using a stencil
by memorybox
"Texture Wave"
then stamped the text by
Stamp A Mania and embossed it.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out
the LIM blog for many more ideas.

Hello Buttercup

I did this for a challenge over at
Less Is More
that calls for using citrus colors.
I smoothed some alcohol inks
over some glossy paper,
diecut the circles and
the flowers....
popped up the panel and
called it good.
Dies are by memorybox
"large circle burst" and
"chloe stem"
verse stamp is by
Papertrey Ink
Thanks for stopping by!
