Abstract Fish

As you can pretty much tell, I used some of my earlier reject background
pieces for this card.
You know how it is. You make some background and decide it
isn't what you wanted, but there is something there that
will not allow you to toss it?
The stamp by Inkblocks (available over at I Brake For Stamps)
fit into my glob of color is why I used this particular image.

I dribbled re-inkers on some white glossy and brayered them
around for the background and then overstamped the
image in black.

This was layered over the green panel that had been run thru the cuttlebug
and affixed to the blue base.
I used some sparkly brads from Oriental Trading and a nifty starfish embellishment
to finish things off.

Leaves: Spring or Fall?

Yesterday I mowed our lawn for the first time this year (more to get rid of winter's
droppings than to cut grass).  Love that mulching blade!
So of course I was in a "leaf mode"...LOL
I punched some leaf shapes and ran the back through the Xyron, then added glitter.
Stamped a verse by I Brake For Stamps and added a leaf eyelet.
I promised you "simple" this week, remember?

Color Explosion

The embossing tends to reflect on this beautiful image by Inkblocks (carried by I Brake For Stamps).
No matter what you think though, it is NOT full of un-inked areas.
After coloring the background with various colors I stamped the main image in black and embossed on brown cardstock.
The added "Authentic African-looking" embellishment adds to the look I was attempting I think.....

Safari Sunrise Technique

This is another quick card.  I used my trusty brayer to swipe color on a piece of white glossy.  I stamped a silhouette scene stamp by Inkblocks (now carried by I Brake For Stamps) in black dye over this.
That's it!  Matted and layered a few times and was done.  How quick is that?

Baby Carriage

This card was quick and easy for a nice dramatic result. I stamped the baby carriage on vellum and colored on the backside. Then I punched a circle in some white cardstock. I layered the white over blue so the circle was behind the carriage, then layered it all onto more white.

Drama without trauma! Very quick and dramatic results don't you agree? Carriage stamp by I Brake For Stamps

Bunch of Birds

This card was super-easy to do. Just take a brayer loaded with ink and sort of roll it here and there around your paper, leaving some white. Then spritz some alcohol over it all so the inks begin to run together.
I got these cool stamps from "I Brake For Stamps" so of course I had to try them out. Don't you just love that crackle background?

TJN - Holiday Blogstravaganza

This is a totally FUN card today.

This uses the Glitter Straw Technique from the Feb '07 issue of TJN

I cut out the cat image by I Brake For Stamps and popped it on a slice of Glitter Straw. The mouse is (popped) clip art and the verse is computer generated.

It is definitely not your usual Christmas card!

Be sure to check out Pat's blog: The Technique Trail for more Blogstravaganza!

TJN Tuesday Teaser

This card uses a technique from the soon-to-arrive December issue of TJN

"Color Pop Technique"

All stamps by I Brake For Stamps

Okay, so I added yellow tail feathers to a blackbird. It's possible isn't it? This is a nifty technique. You can get many
different color combo's using this technique, each time you do it. The depth and dimension is amazing even if the scan doesn't show it, trust me, it's there.

Brayered Background

No special technique with this card. I was playing with my brayer and wondered how watercolor paper would turn out is all. I've seen some results that show more texture and I think maybe I used smoother paper than those as my texture does not show well.
Anyway I liked how it turned out so am putting it here to share with you all.

She has some awesome images and carries a lot of different companies so check her out!!
