Merry Christmas! (aka TJN - Holiday Blogstravaganza)

Here is a card I made using the Cuttlebug Highlights Technique from the Oct '08 issue of TJN

This is also an "economical card" in that I used a color cardstock for the base which does not open, rather the smaller overlaid white piece is the actual card itself. This enabled me to get 4 cards from one sheet of colored (more expensive) rather than only 2. This was necessary since this card is my Christmas card this year and I needed to make 50 of them.

I stamped the snowflake image several times in different blues, then ran the piece thru the Cuttlebug and ran another blue ink pad over the embossed images. This adds lots of dimension. A little ribbon, some punched flakes and it's done!

TJN - Holiday Blogstravaganza

This is a totally FUN card today.

This uses the Glitter Straw Technique from the Feb '07 issue of TJN

I cut out the cat image by I Brake For Stamps and popped it on a slice of Glitter Straw. The mouse is (popped) clip art and the verse is computer generated.

It is definitely not your usual Christmas card!

TJN - Holiday Blogstravaganza

Here is a card I made using the Twisted Edge Ribbon Technique from the Nov '08 issue of TJN

Stamps are by Stampin' Up!

An added TIP: You can tear your paper layers as one piece to get both layers identical by sliding the bottom layer up a bit before tearing...then slide it down so it is longer than the top layer for a perfect match!

TJN - Holiday Blogstravaganza

Here is a card I made using the Rainbow Double Technique from the Aug '07 issue of TJN

Stamps are by About Art Accents & Wood Cellar Graphics

I wasn't real impressed with this technique until I began the final step so if you try this, finish it before discarding it!
It gives so much depth that it is amazing. Actually the hardest part of this card was the intricate cutting of the lovely AAA holly branch.....

TJN Holiday Blogstravaganza

This card uses the TJN Technique "Frosted Glass" from Dec '02 and a brass stencil by Heritage Handcrafts. I cut the "glass" into a large circle to represent an ornament and tied some glitzy fibers from the top. Background is a shiny piece of silver mirror cardstock run thru my Cuttlebug. As simple as it gets!

TJN - Holiday Blogstravaganza

This card uses the TJN Technique "Cuttlebug Smoosh" from Oct '07. I used a light blue ink to give the background some definition, but not overpower it.

Stamp used by Great Impressions . I cut out the center of the large O and centered it over an embossed snowflake.

TJN - Holiday Blogstravaganza

Here is a card I made using the Cuttlebug Highlights Technique from the Oct '08 issue of TJN

Stamps are by Holly Berry House

I stamped the poinsettia image several times on various colored paper, embossed with fine detail EP and cut each out, removing a little more with each layer. I popped the last 2 layers to give more dimension and IRL it looks great, but of course my scanner
doesn't show that well.

TJN Holiday Blogstravaganza

This card uses the Color Pop Technique from the soon-to-be-released Dec '08 issue of TJN

I got a little carried away with the color I think? More subtle would have been perfect for this image stamp and it is only one stamp. I love the way the image itself gives so much depth don't you?

Stamp by Penny Black

TJN - Holiday Blogstravaganza

Here is a card I made using the Out Of The Box Technique from the Oct '04 issue of TJN.

I added a little sparkle to the starry sky with a clear glitter pen and "boxed" the image several times.

Camouflage Christmas aka Blogstravaganza

I love this TJN technique "Camouflage Oct '08". I get different results with every different paper I use! This card resulted from a dark green paper, yielding yellows and tans for variations. Actually the hardest part was getting those nasty staples in the right place...lol I can see I need more practice with that.

I used a cute stamp by VAP. I stamped it several times on different colored paper and cut out the image portions in same-size blocks which were glued above the sentiment. This dressed up an otherwise drab stamp.

Blogstravaganza Joy!

My card today uses the Artsy Dimension Technique (April '08) for the background and
the "Joy Tree" stamp is by Outlines.

I added some of those tiny gold drops that were meant to be ironed on jeans, *giggle* they work great as card embellishments!
I set 2 or 3 of them inside the O in JOY to set off the stamp and layered the image on some glitzy gold paper so it wouldn't get "hidden" by that magnificient background.

TJN Holiday Blogstravaganza

Today's card uses the TJ Technique "Floating Sentiments" from the June '06 issue. I went with the gold color for the sentiment just because I had no red paint....the gold eyelets tied it together I hope.

Stamps used were from About Art Accents. Their Victorian Christmas Plate 1 has many scrumptious holiday images.

TJN Holiday Blogstravaganza

Yet another TJN Blogstravaganza card! This one uses the TJ technique called "Brayered Spotlight" from the Jan 2007 issue. An oldie but a goodie.

TJN Holiday Blogstravaganza

Here is another Holiday Blogstravaganza card. This background almost "speaks for itself" and does not need much more to convey its' beauty and simplicity IMO. A corner punch, an intricately cut out image and a snowflake eyelet brings it all together beautifully.

You will find yet more details and more examples etc on Pat's blog here: The Technique Trail

My card uses the Simple Green Spritz Technique (4/08)

Another TJN Holiday Blogstravaganza

Here comes another holiday card. I was somewhat limited with this background as it didn't allow me to stamp much on it. I got around that by cutting images and layering to make it do what I wanted.

My card uses the Brayered Spots Technique (1/08) from TJN
Stamps by Firecracker Designs By Pamela and Embossing Arts

TJN Holiday Blogstravaganza

Here comes another Cuttlebug Christmas Card. I am having so much fun with the Technique Junkie "Blogstravaganza Blitz" that I will have my Christmas cards all done before I know it!

This card uses the Alcohol Ink Float Technique (TJN 6/08 issue) and the Cuttlebug Highlights Technique (TJN 10/08 issue). Stamps are by I Brake For Stamps.

Holiday Blogstravaganza

Been awhile hasn't it? Some of you know that I live out in the wilds of South Dakota. Not where the buffalo roam, but where the corn harvest is in full swing amid the recent snowstorms. We've been trying to finish the harvest and finding it is very slow going so I've not had much stamping time lately.
My card today uses several TJ techniques: Technicolor Dye, Cuttlebug Highlights & Sparkle Paper
The background is done in Technicolor Dye and then run thru the Cuttlebug with Cuttlebug Highlights added. The snowflakes were punched from a piece of Sparkle Paper technique. Stamp is by Inky Antics.
