Alcohol Ink Splash Technique

This card is an off-set one, meaning the front is shorter than the back to allow
one to view the inside when closed.
It also uses a technique from
Technique Junkie Newsletter
which you will need to go there to find the recipe, sorry.

I stamped the flowers (by Magenta) from the Splash
papers and trimmed them, layering them along the bottom
and adding several jewels here and there.
I stamped the verse (which I confess to being too lazy
to track down to tell you who makes it).

IRL there is such a shimmer and glow to these flowers!

Now I know you have been waiting to see who won the prize I offered
during yesterday's blog hop so without further delay.......

Okay I am delaying!

Scroll

the
winner....

If I do not hear from you by then I will

Wood Grain Technique by TJN

The wood portion of my card is explained
fully over at Technique Junkie Newsletter.
A really nifty way to get an
authentic looking wood background
with little effort.

After matting the wood background, I
trimmed some western-looking images and added some raffia.
Stamps used are Commotion, Hero Arts and PSX.

Well, it looked kinda, sorta like a lasso to me.......

Faux Domino Technique

This card was done using a technique from the latest Technique Junkie Newsletter.
All I can tell you is that it resembles dominoes.  Sorry, but you need to subscribe to find out more.
I used stamps by About Art Accents colored with Copic markers.
A little gold fiber and a brass butterfly charm is all
the room there was for embellishments.
But then, it really doesn't need more does it?

Frog Hugs

I had a blast with this technique from Technique Junkies.  It involves a drinking straw and reinkers, but you will need to subscribe to TJN to find out more.
I layered the TJN background and stamped the TAC frog in 2 pcs.  I mounted the front onto the back using a pc. of kinky wire to make him jump.
A pair of googly eyes and he is ready to HOP!
Of course you can't see all the action, but believe me he is a "hoppy" frog!!

TJN Technique

Just in time for deer hunting season!  This card uses a Technique Junkie technique.  All you need is some bleach and an issue of TJN.  Sorry you will have to check the newsletter for the remainder of supplies to make this very authentic looking camouflage background.
Those laughing deer are by Art Impressions.  They must not be afraid of those deer hunters?

Snakeskin!

This is a cool technique for a background that mimics snakeskin, or elephant hide in this case.  The tech comes from the Technique Junkie Newsletter so you will have to go there to find how to do this.

I pretty much layered after doing the technique, running a scrap thru the cuttlebug.  Stamped an image by picture show and layered that also.

So what do you think?

Stamp A Mania Rose

This beauty follows a Technique Junkie technique ("Rainbow Double" from the Aug '07 issue).
The verse is a vellum Quote by DCWV, layered on white and then on lilac with  small brads holding it in place.  Some ribbon by RRR and it is finished!
Of course the stamp is by Stamp A Mania, a very intricate rose image.  They are so much more than simply southwest so be sure to check them out by clicking HERE

Stamp by Inkadinkado.
Believe it or not, this was a quick 'n easy card!

Illusion Stamping

This card just looks layered, but it's not. Using masks and inks I created an illusion for you. You will find the technique on the Junkie site. I had fun doing this and it turned out pretty good I think, first attempt!

Merry Christmas! (aka TJN - Holiday Blogstravaganza)

Here is a card I made using the Cuttlebug Highlights Technique from the Oct '08 issue of TJN

This is also an "economical card" in that I used a color cardstock for the base which does not open, rather the smaller overlaid white piece is the actual card itself. This enabled me to get 4 cards from one sheet of colored (more expensive) rather than only 2. This was necessary since this card is my Christmas card this year and I needed to make 50 of them.

I stamped the snowflake image several times in different blues, then ran the piece thru the Cuttlebug and ran another blue ink pad over the embossed images. This adds lots of dimension. A little ribbon, some punched flakes and it's done!

Stamps are by PSX and Endless Creations

TJN - Holiday Blogstravaganza

This is a totally FUN card today.

This uses the Glitter Straw Technique from the Feb '07 issue of TJN

I cut out the cat image by I Brake For Stamps and popped it on a slice of Glitter Straw. The mouse is (popped) clip art and the verse is computer generated.

It is definitely not your usual Christmas card!

TJN - Holiday Blogstravaganza

Here is a card I made using the Twisted Edge Ribbon Technique from the Nov '08 issue of TJN

Stamps are by Stampin' Up!

An added TIP: You can tear your paper layers as one piece to get both layers identical by sliding the bottom layer up a bit before tearing...then slide it down so it is longer than the top layer for a perfect match!

TJN - Holiday Blogstravaganza

Here is a card I made using the Rainbow Double Technique from the Aug '07 issue of TJN

Stamps are by About Art Accents & Wood Cellar Graphics

I wasn't real impressed with this technique until I began the final step so if you try this, finish it before discarding it!
It gives so much depth that it is amazing. Actually the hardest part of this card was the intricate cutting of the lovely AAA holly branch.....

TJN Holiday Blogstravaganza

This card uses the TJN Technique "Frosted Glass" from Dec '02 and a brass stencil by Heritage Handcrafts. I cut the "glass" into a large circle to represent an ornament and tied some glitzy fibers from the top. Background is a shiny piece of silver mirror cardstock run thru my Cuttlebug. As simple as it gets!

TJN - Holiday Blogstravaganza

This card uses the TJN Technique "Cuttlebug Smoosh" from Oct '07. I used a light blue ink to give the background some definition, but not overpower it.

Stamp used by Great Impressions . I cut out the center of the large O and centered it over an embossed snowflake.

Check out Pat's blog: The Technique Trail for more Blogstravaganza and thanks for looking.

TJN - Holiday Blogstravaganza

Here is a card I made using the Cuttlebug Highlights Technique from the Oct '08 issue of TJN

Stamps are by Holly Berry House

I stamped the poinsettia image several times on various colored paper, embossed with fine detail EP and cut each out, removing a little more with each layer. I popped the last 2 layers to give more dimension and IRL it looks great, but of course my scanner
doesn't show that well.

TJN Holiday Blogstravaganza

This card uses the Color Pop Technique from the soon-to-be-released Dec '08 issue of TJN

I got a little carried away with the color I think? More subtle would have been perfect for this image stamp and it is only one stamp. I love the way the image itself gives so much depth don't you?

Stamp by Penny Black

TJN Tuesday Teaser

This card uses a technique from the soon-to-arrive December issue of TJN

"Color Pop Technique"

All stamps by I Brake For Stamps

Okay, so I added yellow tail feathers to a blackbird. It's possible isn't it? This is a nifty technique. You can get many
different color combo's using this technique, each time you do it. The depth and dimension is amazing even if the scan doesn't show it, trust me, it's there.
