LIM284 "Take Time"

This week's challenge over at
is a one layer card with a "time" theme.
OLCs are so not my faves but I try.
I wanted to use something other than
clocks as it seems most think of these
with this sort of challenge.
So I went with a stencil by
memorybox "Texture Shine"
I masked off some to keep that desired
white space and sponged Distress inks
"Mustard Seed" and "Spiced Marmalade".
The verse stamp is by MFP and those
tiny speckles are a stamp by Judith
(to hide a smudge of course).
Be sure to check out

LIM 277 Theme: something that POPS!

My card has something that pops since I use the candles that fizz and pop!
I hope that links with this challenge theme over at
My candle panel was begun with watercolor paper and
watercolors.  Candles were fussy cut and a metal birthday hat
was added with an eyelet.  The panel was cut with deckle scissors and layered
over cream cardstock.
The verse is by MFP "Happy Pansies" and image by embossing arts.
Be sure to stop by Less Is More to check out all the
nifty works of art!

Golden Glitz Delicata by Ranger

gold I had for some antennae.

Less Is More Challenge 263 OLC

This one layer card was made using my new stamps by PTI
"Brushed Off"
along with some stamps by MFP
"Just Dandy"
Inks used were all by Ranger (Distress Inks)
I sponged a bit more color on those dandelions
to set them off a little better and added several tiny
metallic dots by Stampendous
This will be submitted to

http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2016/02/week-263-one-layer-and-dt-call.html

for their current challenge so be sure to check 'em out

Happy 4th Technique!!

Distress Paint Backgrounds

Supplies:

Several colors of Distress Paints
paper of choice (watercolor works but I used plain card stock)
heat tool
water spritzer
acrylic scrap

Directions:

1)  Scribble several coordinating colors of Distress Paint onto a scrap of acrylic or other non-stick sheet.

2)  Spritz with water to allow colors to run and bleed together, tipping acrylic if needed.

3)  Lay card stock on top of paints and apply pressure to transfer colors; repeat if necessary.

4)  Heat until dry and over stamp if desired.

My sample uses stamps by Marks Finest Papers, dies by SB.  I confess that I grabbed this paper panel and smooched into my combined paints before realizing I had already stamped image in Tuxedo Black ink by Memento.  I liked how it turned out so kept going.  Therefore:  it matters not whether you stamp first or last IMO   The "sun" was sponged with Distress Inks and then stamped with Memento Tux Black ink.

2 Hoppy Frogs

I have been really busy lately as we are moving to a new home.
Packing and getting the new house built etc has kept me
hopping just like these 2 green guys.

Stamps are from
Marks Finest Papers and grass die by memorybox.
The rest is all from my stash.

My first attempt at making a fiber bow with a button
topper is a bit skewed but I had fun trying and that
is what it's all about.....
HAVING FUN!!

Birds Of A Feather

I was playing with a new die by Penny Black and this card was born.
I cut the birds in black and again from  a yellow patterned paper
and pieced  one of them.
The "grass" was made by sponging different inks and flicking ink specks
to imitate a grassy look.
The sky was made by sponging blue inks lightly over
white paper and adding some blue bubbles.
The verse is by Marks Finest Papers.

I am entering this card in the current challenge over at
Less is More - Makes me Smile
and the Animal Antics challenge at
Simons Wednesday Challenge
Thanks for stopping by and hope you are enjoying a
glorious Easter Sunday!

Happy From The Edge

My grandson is having a birthday next week AND I wanted to
play with a new die I got in the mail
SOOOOOOOO
here is what happened:

I think this die is cool because half is a reverse cut
and because I find I can use the "leftovers"
with another creation!
I popped the cupcake image
(by MFP)
up several times for dimension and spread
some Distress Stickles on the frosting
also used my PITT white pen by Faber-Castell
for the shine on the little cherry.

I see the stem on that same cherry extends past the edge so this
will also be entered into the current challenge at

which is:

Oh yes.  That die?  It is by
Memory Box

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Okay.  So here is the current sketch over at
      CAS(E) this Sketch
CTS  (cts#57)

and here is my rendition:

I used a pc. of ribbon from my stash and
punched some circles, airbrushed 2 of them,
stamped "Ho!"
by Marks Finest Papers
on each and layered to another circle punched from
gold mirror stock.
The sentiment is also by MFP.
I popped some of the circles for
added oomph.

As sweet and simple as it gets!

Out On A Limb

I made this CAS card up for the current
challenge over at

Challenge #CFC122 to be exact....
"out on a limb" using trees in any way.
Here is my interpretation:

I couldn't get the bright red of the mirror paper of the bird
with my scanner so snapped a pic with my iPhone.
I trimmed out one of the trees from a die by
memorybox "Birch Trio"
and cut the bird from another die by
mft "Beautiful Bird Cages"
The verse is a stamp by
Marks Finest Papers
Not much to look at, but I think I like it!
Thanks for stopping.

Come FLY With Me!

Time for another sketch over at

   CAS(E) this Sketch

This one uses the sketch below:

and my version is like this:

I used a die by Memory Box
"Large Circle Burst"
as my frame.
I then stamped the image (unknown)
on the waste circle portion and colored with
Copic markers.
I stuck a panel of shimmer sheetz behind the
cutout frame so it would show
through all the smaller circle holes.
I like the effect it gives and love how
quick it was to make!
The verse stamp is by
Marks Finest Papers.
Thanks for stopping by.

Wild Thing!

A scenic card for you that I have morphed to fit a challenge over at

CAS(E) this Sketch

This week it is CTS#32 and below is a guide:

Of course you know by now that my work
never looks like the suggested don't you.
Below is my take on this one:

I have turned it into a landscape orientation!
The scenic stamp is by Embossing Arts and the
verse is by Marks Finest Papers.
I airbrushed Copics for the background color
and added a bit of bakers twine to
represent the line on the sketch.

CFC102

I guess I did it again....thinking the deadline for the CFC
was on Friday.  I know I am late, but since I have made
a card for this particular challenge I will post it anyway.

CFC102

and here is my tardy submission:

The challenge was to make something
with red/white & blue colors.
I didn't want to make a 4th of July card as so many were doing.

I used stamps by
Marks Finest Papers
and
Paper Inspirations,
some homemade bakers twine,
shell confetti and starfish from my stash.

Thanks for looking!
