Technique: Faux Silk

Today I will show you how to make some imitation silk paper.

Supplies:
Tissue Paper
Adhesive of choice: spray, xyron, glue or other
Stamps & Inks of choice
White or Neutral cardstock
*Optional: glitters, powders, things with "glitz"

Directions:
1) Stamp images on tissue paper and color if desired. Be aware that
inks will bleed through tissue and tissue tends to tear easily.

2) Crumple tissue paper to create a wrinkled look. Smooth out and set aside.

3) Apply your choice of adhesive over entire piece of neutral cardstock.

4) Lay tissue paper over adhesive side of cardstock and smooth out most
of the wrinkles, but not all of them.

5) Trim to size and embellish as desired.

**Options:

Add some sparkle by applying a wet form of adhesive such as Mod Podge or Elmer's Glue
instead of Xyron form, smooth wrinkled tissue paper over the wet adhesive and sprinkle glitter or sparkly powder
over tissue paper while still wet.

My sample is rather simple to allow the Faux Silk background to show.
Stamps used are unknown.
